Will your bank be next?
In this day and age it's no longer strange to think a bank might go out of business. With the IndyMac explosion and others I was doing a little research on-line. I found an interesting blurb about the next 10 banks, in the most danger, that could possibly go under.

Indy Mac and the FBI
Maybe I'm lucky, who knows, but time and time again I seem to have something go wrong only to turn out to be in my best interest later on. If you read my post earlier this week about my attempt to purchase a condo in Pennsylvania to live in you would know I was complaining about the bank I was using "closing up shop" and not accepting new loans. Today Amber e-mailed me a clip from CNN.com, "A source said the federal government is looking into whether the bank engaged in fraud."

My new favorite Firefox plugin
Today I discovered the Sirius plugin for Firefox. It's truly a wonderful thing. It runs in the background, not requiring a window to stay open. You click "Sirius" at the top, select a channel, and away you go. I am using it in FireFox 3.0 with no issues whatsoever.
If you are a Sirius listener I highly advise this plugin. Simply go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3546
Enjoy!

My attempt to purchase a new primary residence
It's been a long month in my quest to purchase a condo in Bushkill, PA. My goal was to purchase a condo as my primary residence and move to Bushkill. It's close enough to commute to Manhattan when I need to but far enough to give me peace and quiet when I don't have to commute into the city. After a month of going back and fourth everything collapsed this week.
I was working with a great group of folks to pursue my quest of purchasing this condo. My loan was approved and just waiting a few details to iron out. This week, Indy Mac, who was servicing the loan, ceased all operations.

July 4th!
If you are going to Bloomsburg, PA this is a must read for you! This past July 4th we spent time in Bloomsburg, PA. After our original 4th of July plans failed, we decided to go to Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA. Knoebels started in 1926 and has grown to be a true hidden gem among theme parks. It's free admission and located in the mountains. Lots of great rides, the staff is friendly, and the food is amazing to say the least. Try something such as hot waffles with ice cream (an ice cream sandwich of sorts) and more.

Nintendo WII Fit
Today we bought WII Fit. I must say, this is truly an amazing game. You weigh in, it tells you your BMI, and has tons of games such as skiing, tight rope walking, yoga, running, all kinds of activities that you truly feel in your body when you play.
I highly advise if you have a WII you get this game, it's well worth it!

Back from Vegas!
June 5 we left for 5 nights in Vegas for Amber's birthday! What a blast! We stayed at Meridian Luxury suites again (condos owned and rented) and loved it. The real estate in Nevada really hit me on this trip as I saw over 4 condos in this complex foreclosed with do not trespass signs. We spent a day in the Mojave dessert, driving until the little PT crusier couldn't continue to follow the dirt road paths due to 4x4 only signs.

Wal-Mart entering the on-line classifieds biz?
I stumbled across an interesting find today with Wal-Mart. It turns out they entered an agreement with Oddle.com to pair up Wal-Mart and offer on-line FREE classified ads. Evidently it's leeched items from several websites as my vacation rental was already posted.
I went ahead and created a new advertisement for the rental to see how much traffic it sends to the site.

Indianapolis
Last week I was traveling around meeting several clients. It was an adventure of traveling for sure! I had a 5:30pm flight out of LGA in New York and boarded the plane, got in line on the runway, only to hear the pilot annouce we had 61 planes in front of us and oh, by the way, FAA requires you to keep your seat belt on! No joke, we sat on the runway 3 hours! Of course I was flying into Kentucky and missed my connection to Omaha, Nebraska!

Memorial Day Weekend
Hopefully everyone is back home safe after an enjoyable memorial day weekend! This weekend was memorial day and my birthday, so we combined the two together! Saturday we spent time in the suburbs of New Jersey looking at a few homes. Sunday morning we left and went to Bushkill, PA, to look at my property I purchased in Saw Creek Estates. We stayed at Saw Creek for some time and checked out Bushkill Falls and did a short (1 mile or so) hike to the water fall. It was quite beautiful and I got some killer photos.
