July 4th!

If you are going to Bloomsburg, PA this is a must read for you! This past July 4th we spent time in Bloomsburg, PA. After our original 4th of July plans failed, we decided to go to Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA. Knoebels started in 1926 and has grown to be a true hidden gem among theme parks. It's free admission and located in the mountains. Lots of great rides, the staff is friendly, and the food is amazing to say the least. Try something such as hot waffles with ice cream (an ice cream sandwich of sorts) and more.

While in the area we stayed two nights at The Inn at Turkey Hill in Bloomsburg, PA (www.innatturkeyhill.com)

"Just a moment’s drive from Interstate 80, The Inn At Turkey Hill, a Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania bed and breakfast, offers the weary traveler a unique and relaxing lodging experience. More than a B&B, this country inn gives all travelers, for business and pleasure alike, the opportunity to indulge in our tastefully appointed guestrooms and critically acclaimed restaurant. Our restaurant provides deluxe continental breakfasts for Inn guests and is open to the public nightly for dinner. All twenty-three guestrooms provide privacy not typically found in a B&B yet all the amenities one would expect from a large hotel. Our goal is to ensure your experience at the Inn will exceed that of typical hotel lodging."

Let me tell you, this 19 room inn is great. We stayed in the original house and was greeted to great victorian style. The breakfast was great while sitting in the sun room looking at the small pond and lakes. It's a nice location with a lot of history.

This is a great trip to take. See some beautiful Pennsylvania country and enjoy a historic amusement park.
