Today, Saturday January 12, I'm embarking on a mega SEO campaign for GM Performance Tuning. GMPT is the second version of my on-line community for GM drivers. The first version did quite well but I cut ties with the other party I was working with some time ago. About two years ago I started GM Performance Tuning at www.GMPT.net. It's grown to over 3,000 registered members and over 60,000 posts of content.

However, to be quite honest the site traffic has nearly died with new posts. Overall traffic to the website has also decreased. Part of my goal for 2008 is to get this site rocking and rolling again!

I started in a two step program today. First, I purchased and installed VBSEO which I am quite impressed with. This software is so easy to install with VB (as long as you have VBulletin experience) and the configuration is quite easy as well.

Next, I setup sitemaps for the major search engines. I spent some time configuring and generating them and they started submitting.

Now, I'm getting creamed by site crawlers from yahoo, about 200, and my traffic is spiking. I find it hard to believe it would happen over the course of a day but I'm excited to see the outcome in the next few weeks.
